Young Townhill Engineer Wins Top Engineering Prize
A local engineer from Townhill has just won the prestigious prize for the “Most Innovative Company or Product Award” held recently in Falkirk. The presentation was made to Mr Graham McIvor by BBC Host, Kaye Adams, at an award ceremony in Falkirk, sponsored by RBS and Scottish Business Gateway.
In congratulating Mr McIvor on his triumph, Bill said: “Graham’s successful invention saw him lift the Award for Falkirk Engineering firm, I D Systems. His product has the potential to save water authorities millions of pounds in operator call outs through enhanced pump performance. Graham’s success demonstrates what can be achieved by young Fifers from Dunfermline with talent and hard work. I commend Graham and hope he proceeds to even greater achievement in engineering design”.
Graham, a former pupil of Queen Anne High School, graduated from the Heriot-Watt University in Electronic & Electrical Engineering and saw off two others who reached the finals for this leading award.
